Dipping!

So... You all know my fond relationship with dipping foods... ya know.... HLO... dipping nights... stealing chocolate chips from the cafe so we could make chocolate-covered pretzels or strawberries or bananas.... we had fun dipping things. Another experience with dipping or "fondue" as the fancy people call it was at Erica's bachelorette - we got all different things to dip in really yummy chocolate and it was quite fun and experimental... little did I know that these experiences were merely the tip of the iceberg!

My darling boyfriend took me to get fondue at The Melting Pot in Pasadena and we had SO much fun together! :) It's really something you need to do with people that you want to be with for 2-3hours ('cause that's how long it takes) and have a mind for fun and adventure. We had a wonderful time together... dipping veggies and bread into elegant cheese fondue, meats and ravioli into 8 different sauces (after cooking in flavored broth for as much or as little time as we wanted), and everything from cheesecake to bananas into oreo and dark chocolate melting pots... it was refined dining and SO yummy, to say the least... :) It's something I will never forget... he treats me like such a princess... :)

This was the first course of cheese fondue... we had apples, bread, veggies, chips and more to dip in different cheese sauces that had white wine, blue cheese, gargonzola, monterey and all other sorts of mixtures... so yummy!

Aww... we're cute... :) You each get different colored fondue pokers (that's the technical term) to use for your meal.. I had the pink ones. :)This was definitely JP's favorite part... duh... the meat. :) We shared a plate of shrimp, ravioli, beef, chicken, filet mignon and lobster tail. There were several different sauces to dip the meats in, but honestly, after boiling them in so much flavor, the sauces were hardly necessary (though very complementary!).This was the flaming chocolate... ours was an oreo mixture with rum to make it flame and look pretty for our pictures... :)You want it.... you do... :) Bananas, Strawberries, cheesecake, brownies, pound cake, pineapple, and a cherry all sprinkled with a fresh layer of sweet snow. :)

Overall, it was a blast... not something you do everyday, but definitely one of those things you remember for a lifetime. :) JP's so good at enjoying the moment and taking the opportunity to celebrate all of life... :)
